Security in the setting

Risk Assessments

As part of our mission to provide a safe and secure environment for your children to learn through play in. We have detailed risk assessment in place which looks at all the risks in the playgroup environment and details on how we have minimised those risks to continue to effectively provide a safe learning environment. As well as this, we do daily visual risk assessments continuously throughout the session, to help eliminate any risks that become apparent during your child's time at Stone Playgroup.

Safe collection of your child

If someone other than a child's parent is going to be collecting them from Stone Playgroup, a password will be noted on a child's registration forms and this password is to be used by the person collecting. This helps to ensure that the child is safe and going home with the correct person. Once a password has been agreed then the parent is to pass on the password to their trusted person collecting their child.  Staff are to be informed before hand if another person is collecting their child either in the morning or by a phone call or text to the playgroup leader.

Signing your child in/out

Its important that when dropping off and collecting your child that you sign them in and out. This helps staff know who is on the premises in case of an emergency.

Visiting

When visiting the setting, visitors must provide a form of identification, sign in and out in the visitors book and wear a bright orange visitors sticker.

Securing the premises

Once parents have dropped of their children, Our parents gate is secured with a chain and rolling lock. Our doors are key entry only and can be opened from the inside with push bars. The perimeters are secure with bolted gates and safety windows that open outwards.
