Food and Drink

It is IMPORTANT that parents inform us of any food sensitivities, intolerances or allergies as well as any medical, dietary or cultural requirements relating to food on our registration form.

Should a child develop a food sensitivity, intolerance or allergy parents must inform us so that we can update their child's registration form.

Snack Time

Snack time is between 10:15 and 10:30 am.

We provide the children with a healthy snack that could include cheese, apples, pineapple, banana, raisins, cucumber and bread sticks.

To drink the children are offered milk or water. â€‹

Lunch Time

Lunch Time at playgroup is around 12.15pm
In order to stay for lunch, parents/guardians must provide a lunch for their child. We encourage you to provide a healthy, nutritious balanced lunch for their child(ren).
We ask parents not to include sweets or fizzy drinks in their child's lunch. Water and milk are available to drink.
Please refer to the Eatwell Guide and the Eating well: Packed lunches for 1 to under-5 year olds below for further guidance.  Parents can also look at:

We DO NOT provide a lunch.

Please ensure your child's lunch box, food containers and drinks bottle are named, to prevent confusion if another child has the same ones.

IMPORTANT

Please can parents ensure any food in thier child's lunch box is cut to bite size pieces please e.g.  grapes are sliced long ways to eliminate the choking hazard.

Thank you.

Special Occasions or Events

As part of the curriculum the children may be offered foods from around the World to celebrate different cultural celebrations e.g. Noodles for Chinese New Year or to introduce and show the children different foods.

We celebrate children's birthdays with a finger sized piece of cake, taking into account any dietary requirements. Parents can provide a cake if they wish for their child's birthday but be aware some children may have dietary requirements that need to be catered for. An alternative to providing a cake is a fruit platter or stickers.
